The Holiday Season is a busy time of year for all of us, please take time to READ because it is a relaxation strategy to help us unwind during this fun, crazy, and over-scheduled time of year.

Please remember to turn in textbooks for classes that you’ll complete during the month of December so that we’ll be ready in January for the second half of the school year. If you have any questions, please stop by the library, and we’ll be happy to help you or email me at Barbara.Chappell-Brown@sweetwaterschools.org. Note: our systems are school-based so I don’t have access away from our campus to look up library records.

Cynthia Hand author of Aterlife Retelling of the old favorite “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens & Review by Shelley Diaz

“Charles Dickens’s holiday classic has been adapted for the stage and big and small screens multiple times. The author of the “Unearthly” series has reimagined the well-known tale of Scrooge the miser for a modern audience. In her The Afterlife of Holly Chase (HarperCollins), Hand gives readers a prickly heroine who gets another chance at redemption when she fails to change her mean ways after visits from ghosts on Christmas Eve. The author talked to School Library Journal (SLJ) about what inspired her to revisit the beloved story and why we all deserve second chances.”

Happy Holidays to you your family! Take the time to enjoy your family….they are important, too!
